Jolie-Laide Pinot Gris 2022

“The whole is greater than the sum” kind of wine. In 2022 we worked with small lots from two different sites; half the fruit comes from the gravelly loam and limestone soils of San Benito and half from the deep fractured rock and alluvial soils of Sonoma Valley. Both sites produced wines uniquely idiosyncratic all their own, but put together unwound a complex, layered and delicious combination of flavors. Picked early to preserve acidity and crushed by foot for a 3 day whole cluster cold soak which adds phenolic texture and lending a beautiful roseate hue. Naturally fermented in stainless and oak puncheons, aged in neutral barrique. Wildly perfumed of charentias melon, stone fruit, bergamot, kaffir lime with refined texture on the palate. 12% ABV
